About Us.
Pastor Edward King Jr. is the founder and pastor of Dayspring Ministries Christian Center, founded in September of 1994 in Omaha, Nebraska.
Dayspring Ministries Christian Center originated from Dayspring incorporation under the leadership of Pastor Burton and Joy Holland.
Pastor Edward King Jr belonged to a teen Bible club under the direction of the Hollands. It is there he learned the true meaning of having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Pastor King once said that the Hollands had a God gifted way of bringing the Bible to life.
Many lives were changed during the Holland leadership. After many long years of battle in the ministry the Hollands retired. During that time, God raised up a young leader, Pastor Edward Lee King Jr. God called Pastor King to continue the vision, the Hollands had for inter-city youth to know Jesus Christ, out of this Dayspring Ministries Christian Center was birthed.
Luke 78-79 says “through the tender mercy of our God, whereby the dayspring from on high has visited us to give light to those that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace. (In short to give light to those who sit in darkness). The word “dayspring” means dawn of a new day.

Preaching & Teaching The Word
The Apostle Paul tells Timothy to “Preach the Word.” in 2 Timothy 4:2. We agree and do likewise.
Racial & Urban Transformation
Jesus spent much of his ministry healing, teaching, and loving people of other races in urban areas.
Prayer & Worship Ministries
We believe in the power of prayer and worship. Also God is worthy regardless. Let’s lift Him up together!
Evangelism & Discipleship
Jesus told Peter to “shepherd His flock.” Making disciples is not only a command, it’s what the church is for!

Our beliefs
We believe…
The Bible
is the inspired, and infallible Word of God, both Old Testament and New Testament, and is useful for righteousness, faith and conduct.
The Trinity
is the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Each Person of the Godhead has a unique role and function in the overall plan of God to redeem mankind.
The Fall
of men and women in the Garden of Eden happened when Adam and Eve first sinned and all people were separated from God.
The Gospel
is God’s plan to redeem lost humanity by sending His only Son into the world to suffer and die on the Cross to pay the penalty for our sin.
The Church
is made up of men and women from every tribe, tongue, nation throughout history who have repented, and received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
The Holy Spirit
is the 3rd Person of the Godhead who has been sent to be the active working of God’s will and power on the earth and equips people for ministry.
The Gifts
of the Spirit in I Corinthians 12 & 14 and Ephesians 4 are for Christians today to use in ministry as the Holy Spirit wills and directs.
The Return of Jesus
is imminent and possible at any time in our lifetime, or soon after. Jesus promised He would return back to earth just as He left – ascended to heaven.
Heaven & Hell
are the eternal destinations for humans depending on whether they were followers of Christ on earth, or not. The Judgment of all men will happen first.
